NEON BRICK BREAKER

How to Use Power-ups in Brick Breaker

Power-ups fall from broken bricks as glowing capsules with a letter on them. Catch one with the paddle to use it. Here is how to get the most out of each, and when not to chase one.

Never chase a capsule over the ball

A capsule is worth 50 points and an advantage; the ball is worth a life. If a capsule and the ball are falling at the same time on opposite sides, stay with the ball. Capsules fall slowly, so there is often time to collect it after the return.

Multiball and lasers

Multiball (M) splits the ball into three. Keep your eyes on the lowest ball and let the others work. Lasers (L) fire from both ends of the paddle automatically for 10 seconds — position the paddle under dense columns rather than chasing the ball.

Fireball and explosive ball

Fireball (F) lasts 8 seconds and burns through breakable bricks without bouncing, so it carves long tunnels. It still bounces off steel, shields and bosses. Explosive ball (X) makes every impact blast nearby bricks for 10 seconds — great against dense walls.

Magnet, slow motion and shield

Magnet (G) catches the ball for 15 seconds: line up your shot and click or tap to fire. A held ball releases itself after 2.5 seconds. Slow motion (T) drops ball speed to 65% — the ideal time to aim carefully. Shield (U) puts a barrier along the bottom that saves one ball.

The one to dodge

Shrink (S, red) is a challenge capsule: it narrows the paddle for 10 seconds. It cancels Expand and vice versa, so if you are already wide, think twice.
