Neon Brick Breaker FAQ
Is Neon Brick Breaker free?
Yes. The whole game — all 500 levels, Endless mode and the Daily Challenge — is free to play in your browser. There is nothing to buy and no account to create.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. You can add it to your home screen, and pages you have visited keep working offline.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, automatically, on your device (in your browser's storage). Refreshing or closing the page keeps your unlocked levels, stars and best scores. Clearing your browser data or using a private window resets them.
How do I control the paddle?
With a mouse, the paddle follows the cursor. With a keyboard, use ← → or A and D. On touch screens, drag anywhere on the board. Click, tap or press Space to launch the ball.
How are stars awarded?
One star for clearing a level, two for clearing it with at least two lives left, and three for clearing it without losing a life while reaching the level's 3-star score, which is shown before you launch.
How many levels are there?
500 campaign levels across seven difficulty tiers from Beginner to Master, with a boss every 25 levels, plus an Endless mode and a new Daily Challenge every UTC day.
Are the levels really all different?
Yes. Levels 1–10 are hand-built tutorials; levels 11–500 are generated from 21 shape families with a deterministic seed, and an automated test confirms no two layouts are the same and that every breakable brick can be reached.
Can every level be beaten?
Every level passes structural checks (valid geometry, reachable bricks, a completable objective) and was cleared by an automated autopilot that plays with a human-speed paddle. That can't measure how hard a level feels to a person, so the difficulty milestones were also played by hand.
Is there a leaderboard?
Not a global one. The game has no server and never uploads your scores. Your best scores, times and endless records are kept on your device, and you can share a score with the Share button.
Why did the ball speed up?
Each level has its own ball speed, rising gradually through the campaign. Within a level the ball also speeds up very slightly with each paddle hit, up to 12% faster, and it is capped so it never becomes uncontrollable.
Does it work with reduced motion or without sound?
Yes. If your device asks for reduced motion, screen shake and ball trails are turned off and particles are reduced. Sound and music can be toggled at any time and are off until you interact with the page.
