NEON BRICK BREAKER

Power-up Guide

Ten capsules, each marked with a letter. Catch one with your paddle to use it. Timed effects show a countdown bar at the top of the board.

CapsulePower-upWhat it does
MMultiballSplits the ball into three. Up to 8 balls can be in play at once.
EExpand PaddleWidens the paddle by 50% for 15 seconds.
SShrink PaddleA challenge capsule: the paddle shrinks to 65% for 10 seconds. Dodge it if you can.
LLaser PaddleTwin lasers fire upward automatically every 0.4 s for 10 seconds.
FFireballFor 8 seconds the ball burns straight through breakable bricks without bouncing.
TSlow MotionBall speed drops to 65% for 10 seconds.
GMagnet PaddleThe paddle catches the ball for 15 seconds; click, tap or press Space to relaunch it.
+Extra LifeAdds one life (up to a maximum of five).
XExplosive BallFor 10 seconds every impact blasts bricks within a short radius.
UShieldA barrier along the bottom saves the next ball that would be lost, once.

Where capsules come from

Bricks with a bright diamond in the centre always drop a capsule, from level 10 on. From level 21, any brick may also drop one at random: 7% of the time in the Easy tier, rising to 13% in the Master tier. At most three capsules can be falling at once, and each one you catch is worth 50 points.

When each power-up appears

  • Levels 21+: Expand, Multiball, Slow Motion, Extra Life
  • Levels 61+: Laser, Shield
  • Levels 121+: Fireball, Magnet and the risky Shrink capsule
  • Levels 201+: Explosive Ball

How they combine

  • Expand and Shrink cancel each other: the newest one wins.
  • Catching the same timed power-up again restarts its timer instead of stacking.
  • Multiball never goes above 8 balls, and lasers are capped too, so even big combinations stay smooth.
  • Fireball passes through breakable bricks but still bounces off steel, shields and bosses.
  • Losing a life ends every timed effect. An unused Shield is kept.
  • Pausing freezes every timer.
